IPhone Blogger App

I just found it by accident. Was checking up on Twitter and saw a tweet about the official Blogger App! Hooray!

A little bit of this and that

I have now settled on the fact that I am going to be doing a lot of projects but a little every day so they will all grow.  I think it will be fantastic to see progress on them each day.

For the One a Day challenge I have three projects lined up.

African Flower Swap (November)
Take My Time (Although I will be doing 4 rows of this a day)
IRB RWC Blanket (Altough this will be 10 rows a day)

This will make my goal setting for the week so much easier as well.  As long as I don't get tempted to add any other WIP these can be done in a day.

The two blankets will not be portable projects that's why I have added the African Flower Swap into the mix. So that when at swimming or waiting for boys I can easily manage one of these.

WIP Wednesday - Week 9

The entire day I have been kicking myself as I forgot Tally Tuesday yesterday, which is part of One A Day.  Part of me say hey it's ok, cause you said you were only going to start on Friday with the RWC, but the other part of me says, yes but you could have added the African Flowers you are making for the November swap to that and turned Take My Time into part of that as well.

With all this internal debate going on, I bascially did stuff all crocheting today!!  I did one row on Take My Time and although I lugged around my African Flower cotton didn't even start one!

Add to the fact that since Sunday I haven't really done much I don't have a thing to show you today.  But I will pop over to Tami Ami's and check out all your WIPS.

RWC Blanket Decision

Today I made myself decide what pattern I am going to do for my RWC blanket.  I armed myself with the two balls I got for swatching, the 4 patterns I had chosen, the correct hooks and needles and off I went to my friend for coffee.

Once I had finished pulling my hair out, trying to teach her how to do the granny stripe blanket, she is a real show and tell and not a follow written pattern type of gal.  Love her to pieces, but I really have to remind myself constantly to have patience.  It reminds me why I could never be a teacher.

We call her couches the sleepy couches, there is something about them.  When you sit on them for awhile you get really sleepy.  When my phone alarm went off reminding me to fetch the boys, I realised I hadn't actually done a thing!  My bag was still all nicely packed.  But the catch up and visit was so worth it.

During swimming I was chatting so nicely to one of the lovely mums that I again didn't even make a start.

Home.  Now I have to do something!  Right!  I got out the 4 patterns and got my hook and started with the 2 crochet patterns.  I didn't like either one of them.  The hook sizes in the patterns were either too big and left holes, or too small and it was tiny.  So they both got ripped out.

Coffee break.    I get out my well now favourite crochet books.  The Harmony Guide.  And start paging through.  I find these four stitch patterns and what's app them to Shake Shake.

Shake Shake immediately replies that the waves and Chevron Stitch is definitely her favourite!  So I get out my hooks and start working up a swatch.  Now I know that I definitely need to use a size bigger hook for my chains but seriously for the swatches I didn't.

Yes they are both actually the same colour, but the top one was taken in daylight and the bottom much later.  The top one was done with a size 4mm hook and the bottom with a 5mm hook. Both look amazing to me.  The 4mm is a lot more dense so not sure if that is the way I wanna go.  Will have to decide.  But the pattern even if it's not squares still lends itself to two colours per day being worked which is my plan for this blanket.

I am happy and feel alot more relaxed now that I have made the decision on the pattern for the RWC blanket.

I have in all this not done one row on Take My Time today so tomorrow will have to do double the amount of rows.

Oh well, I had much needed chat and tea time today.

Goal Monday - Week 2

This is the second time I am typing this, blogger is not being nice to me at all.

I achieved my first ever public goal from last week.  I finished Ice Cream and I did the 26 rows of Take My Time.  I actually did 30 rows!!!

This week in order to get more done on Take My Time I am going to do 24 rows.  I know not as ambitious as last week but I have some more wips that need taking care of.

Ribby, is going to be frogged.  Pudding said he doesn't like it and would like a cardi.  Well he actually said "The one with buttons at the front".  That will have to wait as I have to start the RWC blanket on Friday.

This week I have to swatch the 4 squares I like and then let Granny Shake Shake choose the one she likes.  I know I said I would do that yesterday but the day ran away with me.

I want to finish Red Butler.  I have sewed the ribbon onto one side, and although it's not 100% flat it really finishes it off nicely.

And Friday the IRB RWC starts so will the blanket and the One a Day challenge for me.

There you have it, my goals for this week.

What if any are your goals for the week?

Year of Projects - Week 9

I have added 30 more rows to Take My Time and it's not even half way big enough.  This is going to be a long termer.  I have been toying with the idea of doing 4 colours (8 rows) everyday, just so I can get it done.  Oh and Monster has decided he wants his room to go back to blue, so he doesn't even want this blanket anymore!!!!  So I will have to find a new home for it.
Ribby hasn't been touched since Tuesday but this week I am going to set a goal for myself.  Haven't decided what it will be but I will get it finished before Friday as RWC starts!

Today I will finish the 8 rows of Take My Time and then I want to make the four different squares I have in mind for my RWC blanket and see which ones I like doing and which ones the recipient likes.

Good Luck to all my fellow YOPers and don't forget to go over to When Did I Become A Knitter and check out more.

RUGBY

Even thought the RWC only starts next weekend!!! Bring it on.

There is plenty of Currie Cup Rugby today!   The Bulls are playing the Sharks at home.  Fortress Loftus is going to be rocking.

We not going as Monster has organised a movie date for 14:40 and logistically it won't happen.  Anyway another time.

Am plodding along with Take My Time and getting quiet lazy as I have reached my goal for the week. Now planning how many rows to forecast for next week.  I supposed I can pull my finger out and do some more on the Ribby which hasn't been touched since Tuesday.

FO Friday - Week 8

IT'S THE WEEKEND BABY!!

GREEN & GOLD FRIDAY.  Our Springbok Rugby squad left last night.  GOOD LUCK BOYS.  Bring back that trophy it belongs here.

Anyway now I have that out my system.

I only have the Ice Cream blanket to show you and not amazing pictures as they were on the phone that fell into my coffee!

I have to admit, it became really mindless and a little boring to do, so not 100% sure I can make one for my niece who wants it to fit her queen size bed.  Kinda like the ripple better.  But very glad and happy that I have made one of these.

Alright you crazy crafters off you go and check out more spectacular FO Fridays at Tami Ami's.

SPRING DAY

It's finally here and the weather is SPECTACULAR, which if memory serves me right is odd, as it is normally cold and windy.

Summer is around the corner, boys have gone to school in summer uniform.  Outside eating to commence tonight, salads, no more cooked veggies.  SO HAPPY.

P.S.  Oh yes, sorry northern hemisphere this means you are starting autumn and winter.
